Billy Smith began working in the wireline business in 1974 for a major wireline company in South Texas. In 1981, he moved his wife and two children to Seguin and started an independent wireline company where he ran his own wireline trucks that he refurbished. Billy was repeatedly asked, “Who built your trucks?”  he quickly discovered that there was a need for someone to build quality, affordable wireline trucks. It was then, that the idea to create a manufacturing business was born.

 

Ricky Smith grew up alongside his Dad that worked in the oilfield his entire life. At a very young age, (starting around 10 years old) he started working with his Dad/Billy, in the field on wireline jobs. By the time Ricky was 15 years old he was working summers, as a Rigger on his Dad/Billy’s wireline trucks. After High School, Ricky went into the RV business and became a Certified RV Technician where he successfully ran and managed an RV Service center for years.

 

It was at this time that the two came together to start this new venture. Together, they felt that they could bring their knowledge of both industries and create quality, affordable wireline trucks. So, in 2004 Billy sold his wireline company and they started Wireline Truck Fab.

 

Our Mission is to manufacture quality wireline units, while keeping our overhead expenses down, therefore, more of your dollars go directly into your equipment. Wireline Truck Fab manufactures many different well servicing units to include but not limited to; E-line, Braided Line, Slick-Line, Swab Rigs (Single & Tandem Axle) that can be full size, mid-size or compact for all your specialized needs. Wireline Truck Fab also refurbishes all types of well servicing units. We have manufactured and distributed units in all oil producing states and seventeen countries. We work hard to make sure that ALL our customers are satisfied.

 

With over 49 years in the Wireline Industry, we have the hands-on experience and knowledge that our customers need and expect. We pride ourselves on getting your equipment completed as quickly as possible. We can do all repairs and modifications needed to provide our customers with the highest quality, new and refurbished wireline trucks in the field today.
